A polyglot (noun; adjective) is a person who is able to speak, read, or write a number of languages, someone who is multilingual. Example using polyglot in a sentence: Before the web and social media, polyglots tended to be solitary creatures studying multiple languages on their own and pursuing what were often viewed as eccentric or inexplicable pursuits.
