I am Polish-American and grew up praying in Polish and in English. If you'd like to learn how to pray in Polish, you'll need to begin with the Sign of the Cross. Sign of the Cross in Polish: W imię Ojca i Syna i Ducha Świętego. Amen. Sign of the Cross in English: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. How to Say Our Father in Polish: Ojcze nasz Ojcze nasz, którys jest w Niebie, swiec sie Imie Twoje, przyjdz Królestwo Twoje, badz wola Twoja, jako w Niebie, tak i na ziemi, chleba naszego powszedniego daj nam dzisiaj I odpusc nam nasze winy, jako i my odpuszczamy naszym winowajcom, i nie wódz nas na pokuszenie, ale nas zbaw ode zlego. Our Father Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. If you'd like to hear how to say the Our Father/Ojcze nasz and other prayers in Polish, this video is great. You can read aloud along with the narrator who is praying the Rosary in Polish.

I too went to Polish grammar school for 8 years. Both my parents were full blooded Polish. I learned all my prayers in Polish, sang Polish hymns in church...I’m 73 now and except for a few phrases, I don’t remember anything. So sad 😢

Not to be sad about at all. Praise God you learned hymns and prayers, I dont care the language. I am just remembering my youth and the wonderful times i had learning them all. May even have been a drudgery, but God says ‘“my word shall accomplish that where i have sent it” you are blesed to even have it in your head, i wish i could speak it better and share the truths i know in english, blessed be the name of the Lord

It has been years, many years since I heard Polish or said the Polish Prayers, and to say them with St John Paul was beautiful.

Hi Barbara! It is amazing what our minds can do! I'm so glad it came back to you. Praying in Polish is such an amazing experience. It brings back so many memories for me (especially hearing the entire rosary. We prayed out loud a lot as a kid!). Thanks so much for reading!

Attended a Polish School and learned Polish in K, 1st and 2nd grade. I wish the nuns would have continued teaching our young minds the importance and relevance to keep our heritage alive. My husband and I still attend, on occasion, a Polish Mass that is offered . Beautiful to listen to and proud to join in on some of the prayers and hymns.

Yes, “everyone who trusts in the Lord will be saved.” But before people can pray to the Lord for help, they must believe in him. And before they can believe in the Lord, they must hear about him. And for anyone to hear about the Lord, someone must tell them.

I'm a Lutheran pastor married to a naturalized Polish woman. We are learning Polish, (our kids and I), but this is great that you have these two pieces of the service in Polish. Do you have the Creeds or a Benediction in Polish?

I'm wondering if you know of a liturgical Polish book that might have some of these items already in it?

I went to a Polish, Roman Catholic school for 8 years. Unf.ortunately, they taught phonetic Polish (not translated). I can speak and read Polish, but I don't know what it means. What a waste of 8 years.
