In Slow German - Lesson 2, I'm speaking about the world's largest Volksfest which is held annually in Munich, Germany. Das Oktoberfest!
Next year's festival will be begin at 6:00 AM on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 and ends on Sunday, October 7th 2018.
I'm also speaking about how to call the beautiful summer-like weather that you will typically find in the early autumn in Bavaria, Germany.
In München beginnt im Herbst das Oktoberfest,
dann ist für zwei Wochen wieder totales Chaos angesagt.
Meistens ist während des Oktoberfests schönes Wetter,
man nennt diese Zeit auch Altweibersommer.
Warum? Ganz einfach:
The Oktoberfest begins in the fall in Munich,
then for two weeks it is total chaos again.
During most of the Oktoberfest, there is nice weather.
That time is also called "Altweibersommer" (Indian Summer)
Why? Quite simple:
Do you like to attend Oktoberfest celebrations?
Are you experiencing "Altweibersommer" where you live?
