Learning a Language Online
Recently named the number one satisfying hobby by the Cut, I wholeheartedly agree and am thrilled to be a teacher who continues to be a language student. I love languages and I jumped at the opportunity to partner with Lingoda! We love languages. Lingoda offers online language lessons with qualified native speaking teachers. In virtual classrooms you learn together with teachers and students from all over the world. You can see, hear and interact with each other - like in a traditional language school, just online. Languages bring people together and build bridges between cultures. Learning a language is like learning to see the world through different eyes. And we love what we do. Lingoda's goals completely align with Speak at Home Tonight's vision to make learning easier and more accessible to all. Not everyone has the possibility to attend traditional language schools and there are many inconveniences and discomfort involved: time spent commuting back and forth to school, being forced to learn at fixed times, progress is either too slow or too fast, the learning content is completely generic and classes can be very expensive, especially to learn with a native speaking teacher. The best feeling in the world to a teacher is helping people achieve their goals -by providing the highest quality learning experience. I'm thrilled to be partnering with them. I took several German classes over the last few weeks and am truly impressed by the high standards of quality Lingoda delivers. Start learning today: here's $50 Off! It's a privilege to announce Lingoda is offering €50/$50 off to Speak at Home Tonight's readers/viewers all around the world! Use code: NIKKI. There is no reason to wait any longer - learning another language has been on your to-do list forever, it keeps you young and healthy, and what else are you going to do this winter? Plus, don't you want to take a trip somewhere to use those language skills or impress someone with your foreign language skills? Impress yourself with how much you can learn (from home!) It is so much fun! Let me know which language you are going to learn first! As always, please let me know if you have any questions! Listening, reading, and repeating - in order to get your mind used to recognizing words and phrases in another language, you'll need to do all three.
I absolutely love the Slow German podcast with Annik Rubens. I highly recommend language learners of all levels listen to podcasts and try to repeat everything the host is saying to get your mouth and muscles used to using different parts of your throat. Even though it might feel uncomfortable, it's important to practice speaking in the target language. It will get easier for you to isolate words the more often you hear phrases being used in conversations and you'll eventually be able to use the phrases on your own! Inspired by Annik Rubens, I created a short video clip of myself slowly speaking in German. There are both English and German subtitles available.
{Englisch/English}: Today is Friday and I thought I could teach you all a bit of German. So, one method I really like is ‘slowly spoken German.’ For example, there are four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Now, the summer is over and the autumn is beginning. I hope you find this helpful! Please let me know if you have any questions or if there are any specific topics you'd like to see covered in slowly spoken German. |
